Additionally, the practice’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities rival those of any other ophthalmic practice in the county. Finally, their devotion to making their patients feel like family sets them head and shoulders above the rest.
Peter J. Lowe, M.D.
Dr. Peter J. Lowe is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons; one of the country’s most highly esteemed societies for surgeons. Dr. Lowe also completed his Fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Click here to view Dr. Lowe’s entire Curriculum Vitae.
The Fellowship program at Mass Eye and Ear focused on diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment repair. It also included the surgical treatment of the complications associated with cataract surgery including macular holes and macular pucker.
In 1983, Dr. Lowe established his private practice in Palm Beach County, Florida, and, in addition, served as an Ophthalmologist for the county’s Health Department for more than 20 years.
He has performed more than 10,000 major surgical procedures and countless in-office laser treatments for patients with diabetic retinal diseases, retinal vein occlusion and retinal tears.
Dr. Lowe’s Inspiration
Dr. Lowe’s inspiration for specializing in Ophthalmology was his father, a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry.
“My father’s dedication to his profession fueled my early interest in the eye,” says Dr. Lowe. “Now, after years in this profession, I have since become inspired by the fact that new developments in the treatment of ocular disease allows me to make a difference in the quality of life of my patients.”
The Personal Side of Dr. Lowe
Dr. Lowe and his wife, Elaine, make their home in Palm Beach County, Florida. They have two children, Brandon and Marissa. Dr. Lowe enjoys working out, playing tennis and playing golf, of course, when time permits.
